Rooted in Light with Tuesday Rivera

Picture
Welcome to Rooted in Light, a podcast by Tuesday Rivera dedicated to exploring the journey of transformation, intuitive wisdom, and the profound power of the divine feminine. Each episode features deep conversations, eye-opening interviews, and joyful reflection about transforming ourselves (embracing self-transformation) and reimagining the future with each other.

Bringing together a mix of mentors, colleagues, and friends we admire, Rooted in Light is a podcast of practical guidance and lively provocation.

Rooted in Light reminds us that the sacred work of self-expression can’t be done alone. Here we will meet other kith and kin, as we  intentionally - and exuberantly - come into communion with the Divine and each other.

All of this in service to the world.

Practice Tuesday is leaving you with: Think about something that irritated you/made you want to curse. Close your eyes, breathe and bring it to mind. From there, name and allow yourself to feel the sensation. Try this for 2-3 minutes. Then release them through dance, shaking, a brisk walk, singing, or anything else that helps you move on.
In this episode of Rooted in Light, host Tuesday Rivera and guest G. Cristo get real about the "Conscious Devouring Mother" - an archetype that's both nurturing and consuming, tender and terrifying. This conversation follows up on Tuesday's popular webinar "The (Conscious) Devouring Mother", diving even deeper into the messy, honest territory where sacred rage meets toxic anger, where holding becomes grasping, and where nourishment tips into overconsumption. Through raw stories and hard-won insights, they explore how maternal energy - whether it lives in us or around us - shapes our boundaries, our relationships, and who we're becoming. Not your typical motherhood conversation, this one is about the shadow work of caregiving, the complexity of feminine power, and what happens when we stop pretending love is always gentle. Tune in for a conversation that bridges the mystical and the practical, honoring both the light and the bite of the maternal divine. Ready to go deeper? Practices Gibrán is leaving you with:
Whenever your day allows, practice free writing (2-5 mins max) and take a long walk that is tech-free.
In this episode of Rooted in Light, Tuesday gets real with transformational guide (and husband) Gibrán Rivera about integration - the messy and ongoing work that happens after the peak experience fades. They dive into why true transformation isn't about collecting spiritual highs, but about weaving those insights into the ordinary moments of your life. They explore our culture's obsession with the mountaintop moment, the challenge of sustaining change when the retreat ends, and why community must be a part of any lasting transformation. This isn't just another conversation about spiritual practice - it's about what it actually takes to become who you're here to be, especially when the initial inspiration fades. It's for anyone who's been to the mountaintop—and is now learning how to walk the path back home.

Sommer Sibilly-Brown knows what it means to choose ancient wisdom over cultural conditioning. In this episode of Rooted in Light, we explore how unlearning becomes a sacred practice - and why trusting spirit over society rewrites the rules you live by.

Sommer shares her journey into Ifá tradition, the power of divination with the Orishas, and what happens when you stop apologizing for your spiritual truth. She opens up about being led into practices she didn't understand, requiring profound trust and spiritual courage to follow where spirit was guiding.

If you're ready to claim sacred traditions that call to your soul - regardless of what society says you're "allowed" to practice - this conversation will remind you: your communion with the sacred serves everyone. Don't hold back.

You already have spiritual authority - you just need to stop apologizing for it. In this solo episode, Tuesday gets real about what blocks us from claiming our gifts and why women's stories hold the key to our liberation.

Through the story of Leaping Deer, Tuesday reveals how spiritual authority isn't something you earn through perfection - it's something you claim through courage. This episode cuts through the seeking, the qualifying, the waiting for permission. Your spiritual gifts are needed now.

If you've been hiding your truth, dimming your knowing, or waiting to be "ready enough" - this is your invitation to leap. Your communion with the sacred serves everyone. Don't hold back.

What if the thing keeping you stuck isn't actually lack of safety - but your refusal to feel safe?

In this solo episode, Tuesday gets real about how chronic unsafety has become a habit, a badge of honor, a defense mechanism against our own transformation. She explores the three doorways where risking safety changes everything: when you begin something new, when you claim what's already true, and when you allow necessary endings.

This isn't about denying real danger or bypassing actual threats - it's about choosing internal sovereignty even in the midst of precariousness. If you've been waiting to feel safe before you start, before you claim your truth, before you let go - this episode will challenge you: What becomes possible when you risk feeling safe right now?

WHY SYSTEMS WORK NEEDS THE SACRED:

PRACTICES DANIELA OFFERS:
  • Create an alignment space: Choose a physical path you walk regularly (a hallway, the walk from your car to your house, a staircase). Each time you walk it, pause to realign. Notice where you're holding tension, where you're rushing, where you're not standing in your full dignity. Let this become your daily practice of coming back to yourself.
  • Ask for help and trust it's there: Before meetings, decisions, or new beginnings, ask your well and wise ancestors, the Divine, Source - whatever language works for you - for support and alignment. Then trust that what shows up is helping you, even when it doesn't look like what you expected. The practice is both the asking and the trusting!
What if the systems change work we've been doing has been missing something essential? What if the sacred feminine isn't just related to systems thinking - what if it is the same work, calling us by different names?

In this conversation, Tuesday sits down with educator and systems change leader, Daniela Papi-Thornton, to explore the territory where strategic thinking meets spiritual wisdom. Daniela has taught at institutions like Yale and Oxford, but she's done hiding the sacred dimensions of transformation work - and in this episode, she shares what happened when she stopped contorting herself to fit into conventional professional spaces.

We talk about:
  • Why circularity (the sacred feminine) is actually what systems thinking has been reaching for all along
  • The courage it takes to bring your full self - including your spiritual practice - into "serious" professional spaces
  • How personal alignment and collective transformation are inseparable
  • What Daniela calls the "energy economy" and why it matters for everyone doing change work
  • Practical ways to stop contorting and start inhabiting your truth

This conversation is for anyone bridging worlds - the strategic and the sacred, the professional and the devotional, the individual and the collective. Because these aren't separate territories. They never were.
